On the 19th March, the country celebrated the elegance and poise that is Miss SA 2016. This evening of glamour and class was held at the Carnival City auditorium, where the new Miss SA was crowned and an evening of glorious entertainment was had.

The auditorium was transformed into a carnival themed setting with lots of fiery impression elements and the girls dawned amazing burlesque inspired outfits. The world class stage featured top SA artists like Prime Circle, Mi Casa, Monique Bringham and Sketchy Bongo with Shekhinah. This year Miss SA introduced two new elements to the competition, firstly the winner of the World Swim Suit SA Competition which was taken by Tayla Skye Robinson. Secondly the top twelve were to be cut down to the Top 8 and thereafter the girls were cut to a the Top 5.

With the anticipation built up, three girls were then crowned, Elizabeth Molapo as 1st Princess, Tayla Skye as 2nd Princess and finally the beautiful Nthando Kunene crowned Miss SA 2016. After all the formal procedures concluded at the Big Top arena, VIP guests were taken to the Miss SA After Party. The setting was incredible and out of this world, smaller lounges were set up with floating waiters which offered guests drinks and food all night long…A completely unforgettable event. Soviet Denim would like to congratulate Nthando Kunene on being crowned Miss South Africa 2016. We are so looking forward to having her as a Brand Ambassador and working with her over the next year.
