December Streets - Sink The Boat Party

Last week Saturday the December Streets played a show on a party boat. The boat hosted over 150 people and missioned across the Hartbeespoort Dam. The party was organised by the awesome crew at Arcade Empire from Pretoria. These guys are well known for throwing the most amazing gigs around Johannesburg and Pretoria.

Even though the day started out very gloomy and overcast, this didn't stop the masses from pulling through. I mean, who doesn't want to party on a boat?! The boat left at about 13h30 and the festivities were kicked off by DJ Half 'n Half. There were drinks flowing and the vibe was far from dull.

The first band started soon afterwards and we were graced by the ever-so-cool We Are Charlie. These guys absolutely rocked it. At one time the boat was shaking so much from everyone jumping up and down from dancing.

Next up, we had The December Streets. Now if you haven't been to one their shows before, you are missing out. These guys know how to put smiles on faces and get them feet tapping. We won't mention the amount girls flocking to their feet while they played. There was even a girl who ran up to the lead singer, Tristan and took a selfie of them while he was singing. It was great!

By this time everyone forgot about the overcast weather and were more focused on the party itself, to follow was the remainder of the acts. PENTHOUSE took over and played a set of Tropical House/Nu-Disco, which saw a few party attendees throwing on rubber duck floaties around their wastes and losing themselves to the beats. The last act of the dat was none other, Liver. He is extremely well known amongst the party industry. Liver brought us some dirty drum n bass and sexier dubstep to take us to the end of our boat party.

In the end, we were met by a beautiful sunset of the dam which was the perfect setting for a perfect party.

If you want to see what else the guys at Arcade Empire get up to then visit their Facebook page and don't miss out on the next big event!

  1. I liked reading through these party details. Keep sharing such details here. Anyways, we have also been making plans for a grand party for our engagement and at this moment just need some ideas for the theme as well as suggestions for affordable NYC venues. It will be great if anyone here could provide help.
