Cosmopolitan Fashion Show
The evening started off with a massive queue lining up.
There were hundreds of people eagerly looking at the entrance to open up. Eventually after some time (which felt like forever to the attendees) Cosmo started letting people in. From the moment you handed over
your ticket, you were treated like a celebrity.
Following the stamp on your arm
and receiving of goodie bag, you proceeded to the Cosmo red carpet for a pic. The
goodie bags were filled with plenty of exciting things – Cosmo Mag, Lots of vouchers, Mascara from “benefit”, Cutex from “wet n wild”, “Hoity Toity”
perfume, “Caribbean-tan” lotion, Body mist from “Factorie”, “Guess” branded
portable phone charger and many more. The event area was filled with people within the first 20 minutes. There were
waiters walking around handing out drinks; making you feel like royalty and the
likes of well-known Mrs. World and Zoe Brown could be seen in the midst, also
enjoying the glamour.
Stands were visible all over promoting brands like Hoity
Toity fragrances, Mac make up, drinks corner sponsored by Namaqua, Claires
jewellery and more. The sweets corner was also an ultimate treat where people
lined up to get a taste of the goodies. At round about 8:00 PM the show started. The whole area went
dark and the big screen lit up showcasing all brands participating in the
fashion show. Loud music was playing, building the excitement even more. The MC and cover girl of Cosmo Jeans Edit, Nomzamo
Mbatha, opened the night with a welcome and introduction.
The show started with Denim Couture, showcasing the most
glamorous denim gowns and corsets. Following was a co-branded effort by brands like G-star raw,
Charles & Keith, K-Way and more. All the other featured brands started flooding the ramp with
the best out of their denim ranges. Sequence, colours, faux fur and tassels
stood out in many outfits.
Replay, Foschini, Guess, Forever New, Claires, The fix and
off course Soviet dominated the runway. Soviet featured a range of outfits that was paired with a
camo/army theme. Ten models (5 male and 5 female) owned the stage with their hard
core denim outfits which was accompanied by check shirts, leather jackets,
trendy handbags and the famous Soviet sneakers. The Cosmo team added camo caps, dog tags, camo watches, ray
bans, berets and big hoop earrings to complete the Soviet look.
The evening ended off with a few songs performed by “Jimmy
Nevis”. His back up dancers gave it all they got and closed off the show with a
bang. Huge thanks go out to Mr Lee Fraser for all the support and
awesome pics!!
